Privacy policy

The short version

Two things happen here. You can send us a message through the contact form, and we measure how the site is used with Google Analytics. We don’t run advertising pixels, we don’t record your session, and we don’t sell anything about you.

Signing up as a professional or an office happens in our client portal, which is a separate application. It handles more information than this website does, because it has to run payroll and confirm registration.

What you send us deliberately

The contact form. When you submit it we receive whatever you put in these fields.

• Your name, which is required
• Your email address, which is required
• Your message, which is required
• Your phone number, if you give one
• Your practice or organisation, if you give one
• Your city or region, if you give one
• Whether you are an office or a professional, and what you need

We use it to reply to you and to work out who should. We do not sell it, rent it, or pass it to anyone for their own marketing.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand which pages people read, how they arrived, and where the site is confusing. It is how we decide what to fix, and we would rather tell you it is running than let you find the cookies yourself.

To do that, Google receives the following about your visit.

• The pages you view on this site, and when
• Your approximate location, worked out from your IP address
• Your device, browser and operating system
• How you arrived, such as a search engine, a link, or typing the address
• A randomly generated identifier stored in a cookie, so a repeat visit is recognised as a repeat rather than a new person

That identifier is not your name and we never connect it to one. We use the reports in aggregate, to see that a page is working or that it is not. Google processes this information as our service provider, under its own terms, and may transfer and store it outside your province or country.

If you would rather not be counted, Google publishes an opt-out browser add-on that blocks it on every site, and most browsers offer tracking protection or private browsing that has a similar effect. Blocking it does not change anything about how this site works for you.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets cookies to tell a returning visit apart from a new one. They are not used for advertising and they are not shared with ad networks.

Our client portal separately sets a session cookie once you sign in, which is what keeps you signed in. That one is strictly necessary for the service to function.

You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings at any time. The pages on this site will keep working normally if you do.

What we don’t do

• No advertising or conversion pixels from any network
• No session recording or heatmap tooling
• No selling or sharing personal information with data brokers
• No connecting analytics data to your name, your email, or an enquiry you sent us

Our hosting provider also keeps ordinary server logs, which include IP addresses, in the normal course of serving a website and defending it from abuse.

Who else touches it

We use service providers to run the business, and they act on our instructions. Today that includes our hosting provider, our infrastructure and database provider, Google for the analytics described above, and OnlyDentalJobs, our partner for reaching professionals. If you are placed with us, payroll and insurance providers are involved because they have to be.

We disclose personal information outside that set only where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept while we are dealing with them and for a reasonable period afterwards, so we can pick up a conversation you started last year. Analytics data expires on a retention schedule set in our Google Analytics property. Records tied to a placement are kept for as long as employment, tax and insurance obligations require, which is set by the jurisdiction rather than by us.

What you can ask for

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. You can withdraw consent to being contacted at any time. Ask through our contact page and tell us what you want done.

If you think we have handled your information badly, you are entitled to complain to the privacy regulator in your province or state as well as to us.

Professionals and offices

If you work shifts through us, we hold what an employer has to hold: your registration details, the information payroll needs, and the record of shifts you worked. We confirm registration with the regulator, and we do not assess or record clinical skill.

If your practice books through us, we hold your business contact details, your bookings and your invoices. We do not receive or store patient information, and nothing about the way we work requires it.

Changes

If this changes in a way that affects you, we will update the date at the top and, where the change is significant, tell the people it affects directly rather than relying on you to re-read this page.
