WORKFORCE Dental Staffing

Terms and conditions

These cover using this website, and they summarise how placements work. Where you have signed an agreement with us, that agreement wins.

Draft, pending legal review

This document describes how the site and the service actually work, but it has not been reviewed by a lawyer and should not be relied on yet. Ask us anything it does not answer.

Who you are dealing with

WORKFORCE is a dental staffing agency. We place dental professionals into temporary shifts and permanent roles, and we operate a client portal at app.workforcedentalstaffing.com for offices and professionals who work with us.

This page covers the public website. Bookings, placements and payment are governed by the agreement you sign with us, and where the two differ the signed agreement applies.

Using this website

You are welcome to read it, share it and quote it. Do not scrape it at a volume that degrades it for other people, do not attempt to break into anything, and do not misrepresent yourself as us.

The words, layout, code and graphics here are ours. Trade marks belonging to other organisations appear with their permission and remain theirs.

What the site is and is not

Everything here is general information about our service. It is not legal, tax, employment or clinical advice, and it is not a substitute for advice about your own practice or your own registration. Regulatory requirements differ by province and state and they change. Check anything you plan to act on with your own advisor and with your regulator.

Rates, availability and the markets we serve change. Nothing on this site is an offer capable of acceptance, and a booking exists only once it is confirmed.

Temporary and locum placements

On a temporary or locum booking the professional is our employee for the duration of that booking. That means we carry the following.

  • Confirmation that their registration is in good standing with the relevant regulator
  • Liability insurance in place before they attend
  • Payroll, source deductions and remittances
  • Workers' compensation coverage for the booking

Your practice is billed one all-in hourly rate that already includes all of it. We are an agency and we charge agency fees, and that rate is how we charge them on temporary work.

Permanent placements

On a permanent hire your practice is the employer from the first day. Payroll, insurance, credential checks and every other employment obligation are yours, exactly as they would be for a candidate you found without us. A placement fee applies on conversion and is quoted to you before you commit to anything.

The verification we carry out on temporary placements does not transfer with a professional who becomes your permanent employee. If somebody has covered shifts for you and you then hire them, run your own checks.

What we do not do

  • We do not assess or certify clinical skill. Whether somebody suits your operatory is your judgement, on every placement.
  • We do not provide credentialling services, interpret accreditation standards, or advise on supervision ratios.
  • We do not advise on licensure, immigration, tax or residency.
  • We do not guarantee that a shift will be filled, and we do not publish fill rates or fill times.

Your responsibilities

Practices are responsible for the safety of their premises, for supervision that meets their regulator’s requirements, and for the clinical decisions made in their operatories. Professionals are responsible for keeping their own registration current and for working within their scope of practice.

Both sides are responsible for telling us promptly when something changes, because a booking made on stale information helps nobody.

Liability

We take our obligations seriously and we carry insurance against them. We are not liable for lost production, lost profit or consequential loss arising from a shift that could not be filled, and our liability is limited to the amount paid for the booking in question, to the extent the law allows that limit.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms. The date at the top tells you when they last changed, and continuing to use the site after that means the updated version applies to you.

These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
