How much notice actually helps
A downtown practice near transit can usually fill a shift within the week. A rural clinic or a long-term care programme should be working a few weeks out. Post as early as you can either way, because the earlier it goes up the better the match.
Whether temp is even the right tool
For an occasional gap it usually is. For a gap that comes back every week in a small market, a permanent local hire will hold better than a rota of temps. We place both, so ask us which one fits.
What the day asks of the person
A teaching clinic session, an on-site visit in a residence and a specialty chair are three different days. Matching on availability alone gets you somebody free rather than somebody right.
